How young is it safe to get breast implants?

breast implants
Natalia asked:

I’m a small C and, because I have a curvier figure than most, want to be a D so I’m proportionate. But, I’m only 18 right now, and I’m pretty sure that no reputable surgeon would give breast implants that young. So, what is the age at which you can be considered for the surgery?

    Actually they will.

However, you may not be done growing yet. Give it a little time before you have surgery to alter your figure. You can also try some toning exercises. ,,m4n,00.html

if you have a little extra meat on your bones, try losing some first…alot less painful, and better for you. sculpt your body to fit your boobs before you have someone slice your body open and stick things in it.

besides, most of us guys out here prefer small to average sizes rather than big fake boobs.

Yes, surgeons can and WILL give you implants at 18! The minimum age to get implants is 18. However, SOME surgeons will operate on a girl under 18 if her parents sign and give their permission. On the flip side, some types of implants such as the new silicone gel ones are not available in some areas to peoples until they are 21 years of age.

The reason why surgeons make you wait until you’re 18, is because:
    a) By 18, you are a legally consenting adult.
    b) The average girl’s breasts stop growing at about 16-17. Therefore, the bulk majority of girls’ breasts have stopped growing before they’ve hit 18. Surgeons do not want to operate on a girl that might still be growing, because then her breasts will look different some time after implants.

If you have the money, maturity, and the time to THOROUGHLY research the pros and cons of surgery, I’d recommend getting it done now. Why wait? You’re probably already done growing. Some people recommend waiting until after you have kids, because pregnancy and breastfeeding will produce excess breast skin(which makes it easier for implants to drop into place and look natural). But I would not wait that long, because in this day and age, people are waiting until older ages to have kids anyway. And if you get implants, you will have to get them replaced every 10yrs or so anyway, so if your boobs look different after pregnancy, you can always get the implants changed when you’re due for it. Besides, how will you have the money for surgery when kids are so expensive to raise?? Go for it now.
